Technical Surfaces is excited to announce that we will now be using the Magnet Bar on our maintenance visits as a FREE service to all of our MatchFit® maintenance customers!
The Magnet Bar lifts and removes metal studs and other sharp metallic objects from your playing surface, and will be utilised during all of our maintenance visits - minimising any hidden nasties lurking within your pitch...

The latest addition to our MatchFit® maintenance provision is a result of years of research and development into the factors impacting player safety and surface integrity.
Working with our partners, SMG Sportplatzmaschinenbau GmbH, we have adapted and developed the Magnet Bar to fit seamlessly within our dedicated range of SMG maintenance machinery. As a result, we can now offer a service suitable for removing metal objects from 3G, sand-filled and water-based pitches, as well as athletics tracks.
Our Senior Technicians have been extensively trialling the Magnet Bar across selected sites, and have removed metallic objects including:
- Pins
- Nails
- Boot Studs
- Earrings
Following the successful completion of these trials, use of the Magnet Bar is now being rolled out nationwide to our entire customer base!

Optional attachment for the R.E.D® Range
The Magnet Bar is also available as an optional attachment within our R.E.D® Range of in-house maintenance machinery.
This incorporates the removal of metallic objects into your existing maintenance programme with ease, helping you to ensure continued player safety in between our maintenance visits.
Connecting via a tow bar attached to the bristle roller of the Sweeper Collector unit, the Magnet Bar (working width 0.92m) is available to purchase for our R.E.D® Range Primary / Advantage Care packages.
