// Heavy rainfall in autumn / winter can expose issues with pitch drainage

If your synthetic surface is displaying any signs or symptoms of a contaminated infill, call our National Office on 08702 400 700.
At this time of year, heavy rainfall can expose underlying issues with the drainage of synthetic sports surfaces, leading to issues with flooding and standing water.
Drainage problems indicate a contaminated infill, which can leave the playing surface feeling hard and compacted underfoot, as well as posing a health and safety risk that threatens to compromise the usable life of a synthetic surface.
Typical signs of a contaminated infill:
- Constant flooding
- Water taking a long time to drain away
- Mud and silt deposits on the surface
- Slippery playing surface, potentially hazardous to users
- Compacted playing surface, feeling hard underfoot
However, as many of our customers are already aware, these symptoms do not necessarily mean that a pitch needs replacing, even on surfaces over 10 years old.
An effective, more economical way to resolve this issue is to remove the contaminated infill and replace it with new material, via our patented Rejeneration® deep-cleaning process.
The Rejeneration® uses compressed air to extract the contaminated infill from sand-filled and 3G pitches, before backfilling the carpet with new sand or rubber.
Benefits of Rejeneration®
- Restores the surface’s correct playing and draining characteristics
- Infill is extracted in a controlled and efficient way, without causing damage to the carpet fibres
- With the correct maintenance implemented post-Rejeneration®, the life of a synthetic surface can be extended easily in excess of 5 years
- Avoids the high cost of resurfacing
