To comply with new play regulations, or to increase revenue, you may want to add additional markings onto your artificial surface. This can be done in one of two ways: the first is to spray on the lines. This may be by waterbased aerosol, which will only last a few weeks, or by special 2 part compounds used by Technical Surfaces, which can last for more than 12 months. The decision should be be based on whether the markings are required for a special one-off tournament or to become a permanent fixture. If it is the latter then a further step would be to have the lines professionally inlaid into the carpet. This involves cutting a section away from the existing green surface and inserting a new coloured synthetic yarn in its place. It is important to ensure that whoever you employ to undertake this work pays special attention to the current pile height of your synthetic surface and matches the new lines accordingly. Although this is a greater initial expense to undertake, once installed the lines will last the lifetime of the surface at no extra charge or inconvenience of regular markings.
