//Technical Surfaces & Saracens RFC: Maintaining the Allianz Park 3G Pitch

Technical Surfaces has maintained the 3G pitch at Allianz Park, home of Saracens RFC, since it was installed back in early 2013. 

As well as hosting Permiership Rugby matches, the pitch is a true community facility, providing a playing surface for a variety of schemes implemented by Saracens, including rugby camps, matchday festivals and athletics events.

Our MatchFit® regular maintenance services complement the in-house groundscare programme implemented by Maintenance Manager Danny Holding, who is pleased to be working with Technical Surfaces:

Technical Surfaces sweep the surface and decompact the rubber infill using their specialist equipment; they also treat any moss and vegetation that might develop at the perimeter. They have also provided us with an SMG TurfCare TCA2000, and we have found this to be a useful addition to our in-house equipment. Their online facility [OTIS] is an incredibly useful tool, as it allows us to record the work we do maintain the pitch, which is in near constant use as both a community facility and a professional sporting venue. Having an artificial pitch is obviously a new development in professional sport, and we are aware that all eyes are on us and how our 3G performs week in, week out – working with Technical Surfaces gives us the confidence that we are doing the right thing to ensure our playing surface is of a consistently high quality during the rugby season and beyond.
